Targeted EF Support

Going deeper on executive function

Executive function (EF) coaching, which includes planning, organization, prioritization, self-monitoring, and follow-through, is woven into every session I run, regardless of subject. Academic Success Coaching goes further for high schoolers, providing more targeted, individualized EF intervention alongside graduation and college-prep support.

This deeper work is grounded in the framework developed by Drs. Peg Dawson and Richard Guare (Smart but Scattered), with particular emphasis on emotion regulation, a skill that's frequently left out of EF conversations, even though it plays a central role in a student's ability to manage frustration, stay motivated, and follow through on goals.

Especially valuable for neurodivergent teens

Targeted EF intervention is particularly valuable for high schoolers with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, giftedness/2E, or related neurodiversities, because their unique brain architecture directly impacts their ability to carry out executive functions.

For High Schoolers

Academic Success Coaching

An optional add-on layered on top of subject tutoring, built specifically for high school students navigating the final stretch before graduation and beyond.

Graduation Support

Course planning, credit tracking, and staying on top of deadlines, so nothing falls through the cracks on the way to graduation.

College Readiness

Guidance through the college application process, including college essay writing and the narrative writing skills covered in Foundations First's literacy instruction.

Independent Habits

Time management, self-advocacy, and study skills that outlast the next test and carry students through college and beyond.

Progress Monitoring

Tracking growth beyond the grade

To monitor progress, I combine qualitative observations with data from digital assessment tools, then use that information to maximize the effectiveness of every session, adjusting the plan as your student's needs change.

Pairs with any subject

Executive function support is woven into literacy, math, and science sessions alike as a baseline. Academic Success Coaching adds a deeper, more targeted layer for high schoolers, and can be booked alongside any subject or as a standalone focus.
